A FAMILY TRADITION

Holden, Minnesota was established in 1860, primarily as a Norwegian farming community and was centered around the Vang Lutheran Church which was founded there in 1862. Across the road from the old church and cemetary was the parsonage which became part of the family farm of Hans and Dorothy Rauk in the 1930s after the church was moved.

In 1958 they bought the old Holden country school house, which Hans had attended, and in 1965 they moved it from its location, 1/4 mile west, to its current location, alongside the farm house.

At about this time, that building became the Olden Holden Antique Shoppe from which Hans and Dorothy collected and sold antiques for many years.

We happily continue that family tradition today with:

Holden Antiques

or, as their son is fond of saying:

antiques and cool old stuff.

We sincerely hope you enjoy your visit and come back often.
